A Ray Of Hope Unlock 4 gives permission to reopen partial schools for classes 9-12.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has twitted https://mobile.twitter.com/MoHFW_INDIA/status/1303335899426512896/photo/1saying that schools will reopen for Class 9 to Class 12 from September 21. The ministry said that students of these classes can come to school on a “voluntary basis. By voluntary basis, The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare means that it won’t be a compulsion for all the students. Students who wish to attend schools can attend these classes offline. However, the online classes and assessment will be taking place throughout the year until the pandemic situation comes under control. This is the unlock phase 4 wherein permission to reopen schools in uncontaminated areas has been granted.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has allowed schools to reopen for resuming the face-to-face method of learning from September 21. The ministry has issued a set of guidelines for holding these classes. These guidelines will be as an outline with regards to how the classes should be conducted? what safety measures one should follow?. These guidelines will be mandatory to follow in all schools wherever students will be volunteering to attend classes. These guidelines are termed as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). “This SOP outlines includes various generic precautionary measures to be adopted in addition to specific measures to be taken when schools are permitting students (from 9th to 12th class) to attend schools in All States and Union Territories. These guidelines are expected to comply with the COVID-19 related guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”
The Ministry of Health took to Twitter to announce this development. It said that students will be allowed to take face to face guidance from their respective teachers once they go to school. It also stated that SOP guidelines are mandatory to be followed by every school. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also issued social distancing guidelines including the use of face masks, maintaining six feet distance between students, following respiratory etiquettes, installation of Aarogya Setu application “wherever feasible” and prohibition of spitting. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has rightly taken this decision so as to support the students who don’t have access to digital media and due to which are getting deprived of their basic right, right to education. By continuing online and offline mediums of schools it’s going to be easier for the students to ask their queries face to face to their respective teachers. A very innovative decision has been taken by The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by keeping the school open on voluntary basis giving liberty to students whether to attend or not keeping in mind all the safety measures. The decision is very appreciable because many students are going to be benefited. It’s a very thoughtful decision which has not only thought about opening schools but also has prescribed overall safety measures guidelines so as to prohibit the spread of COVID 19. However, the guidelines also mentioned that online and distance learning shall continue to be in operation and is encouraged. The educational institutes across the country have shifted to online mode to continue the teaching-learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic.
